Mahadevan Iyer (Tabla) is a sophomore in Mountain Pointe High School, Tempe, Arizona. He started learning Hindustani music from Shri Manu Srivastava at the age of six. At about he same time, he started learning Carnatic music from Shri Syama Krishanan Pillai and Tabla from Shri Shreyas Iyer. He has several performances to his credit in Hindustani, Carnatic and tabla. He is also a violinist and plays the Euphonium (Western classical). As a freshman in high school, he was selected for the Arizona Regional Honor Band in both instruments. Besides music, Mahadevan is passionate about football (NFL), video games, and basketball.
